Yuki is really a good boy who has a kind heart, he took a decision where people he care about all can be happy, throwing his own ego.
But then he hurt his own feeling. If I’m there I’ll pursue him to at least openly confess his feeling at chapter 59. After that the decission will be on Tohru whether he will choose Yuki or not.
🌱それは君が あの空のようだから 悲しいくらい 君が愛しいから🌸
“Sore wa kimi ga ano sora no you dakara kanashii kurai kimi ga itoshii kara”
(I found what Yuki said in chapter 59 in Japanese is precious)
Since I’m learning Japanese I can tell that the words above can have a little diff meaning to the manga translation.
In my opinions, the translation :
"It’s because you.. just like that sky..
it could make me sad(in sorrow) because that how much.. you are dear to me(I love you)"

the “~kurai” showing a high appreciation.
He is giving high appreciation towards his feeling for Tohru.
there is also “ano sora” which mean "that sky in the sentence.
He expressed that "Tohru" is so dear to him just like "that sky" (maybe the sky he usually look up to when he is longing for freedom)
“itoshii” is kind of different with “aishiteru”. For me, I like "itoshii" more because its not as common and it can have many different kind of meaning in different situation. In my opinion, “itoshii” can be more deep since it has carrying the feeling of love also showing that the person is dear for us. Sometimes it can refer that person is also “lovable” in different situation
In the end this just a manga character, I shouldn’t be emotional about this😣.
