I loved Hirono. Sure, she was a bad girl from Mitsuko's circle who was a bully at school and involved with very questionable stuff, but at the end of the day, she wanted none of that "killing classmates" BS. She had enough of a head on her shoulder to not let herself get caught up in the whole thing. She was never the aggressor. When she got involved in a gun fight with Kaori, it was purely in self-defense. When she shot Toshinori (bulletproof vest guy), it was in self-defense. When Shuuya attempted to de-escalate the situation between Kaori and Hirono, she allowed herself to believe there was a way out of that madness, and she clearly wanted to join them with no hostility or hidden intents. When things did not turn out as she hoped and she got shot, I still rooted for her with all my heart. It's such a shame that her wish to meet up with likeminded people (Shuuya, plus the two he name-dropped, Noriko and Shogo) ended up crushed. The well scene in which she was hallucinating a nice outcome (while she was drowning) was painful to watch. What a terrible end to her. She was a no BS girl I thoroughly enjoyed. Rest in peace, Hirono.
