Finally, it's time for Inaba the Dreammaker!
Inaba tried to repay Shinobu by trying to go on a date with her. I don't remember him being such a flirt.
I like how there's continuity with the last chapter with Taichiro sending her a letter. That doesn't happen often. Shinobu's luck sure is rotten.
Lum can just casually create Anywhere Doors like Doraemon. Bruh.
The ending is definitely a huge cliffhanger. I wonder what the first readers felt when they saw this type of continuity in Urusei Yatsura.
This chapter and the following 4 chapters were adapted together into one hour-long OVA in 1987 and it was the last animated material produced by Studio Deen. It was a great OVA and I think it was even screened as a movie in Japan. I'm looking forward to seeing how it'll be adapted in the Remake.
I like how in the OVA they got rid of the little flowers on Shinobu's dress which made it look like the female student's uniform from Furinkan in Ranma 1/2. For the longest time, I held the misconception that the studio somehow forgot what the Tomobiki High uniform looked like and mistakenly used the Ranma 1/2. This simply wouldn't be possible since Ranma 1/2 didn't exist yet in any form.
I like how the Remake got her dress right. Let's see how they handle the rest of the arc. The OVA was so beautiful, I doubt the Remake can match the quality. But I'm sure it'll still be very good.
