This is probably the most heroic Ataru has been so far since the beginning of the manga.

He also seems to forgive Lum despite going through so much trouble. He's a man after all. But it's a little surprising that he didn't complain about it one bit.

The Electric Jungle story was the latest story arc of the manga that was adapted in the OG TV series as episode 192 since episode 193 and 195 were based on earlier chapters.

Tbh I didn't like this episode much when I first watched it. But I kinda enjoyed the story in the manga. Maybe I need to rewatch it. Also excited to see how it'll be adapted in the Remake.

Since this chapter came very late into the anime's run, almost every chapter following this will be manga-only. Which is both exciting and a bit sad.

Exciting because there will be a lot of brand-new Urusei Yatsura stories that I never experienced before, sad because if the anime ran at least 1 more year, it probably could've adapted more of these unadapted chapters.

But since they almost caught up with the manga, it would've been extremely difficult to produce more episodes, and we would've seen more filler episodes instead. In the case of UY, fillers aren't a bad thing cause most of the already existing fillers are really good.

Even though they caught up with the manga, by this point they skipped 31 chapters making them completely adapted. I'm sure they were aware of this. So if they wanted, they could've adapted those chapters for the time being, just like how episode 193 and 195 were adaptations of earlier chapters. So the reason they stopped was probably something else.

By this point, the staff were probably exhausted from making UY episodes. And the series itself was getting old and less popular. So it didn't make too much sense to continue the TV series. That's the impression I got anyway. So don't quote me on this.

At least we got more UY in the form of OVAs and new movies. That was still more than what most series get.

But I think it'll be a huge missed opportunity if the Remake doesn't adapt more of these unadapted stories. It's too bad we only got 2 seasons of it. It deserved at least one more season.
