Urusei Yatsura Chapter 209 Discussion

Finally a Shinobu-focused chapter. When was the last time she got a chapter focused on her? And she was originally the main heroine too...



I know Kitsune has his fans but I never really got his appeal. Sure, he's cute. But he seems horribly out of place in a chaotic series like Urusei Yatsura.



That being said, I do see his importance. I think his introduction was Takahashi's way of reinvigorating Shinobu's character and make her seem fresh.




I did like that in the Remake Ataru came to class holding arms with Lum. That was so cute.



I do vaguely remember the original anime adaptation of this chapter too. I remember it feeling pleasant and cozy with Shinobu's narration and its presentation.
