Urusei Yatsura Chapter 198 Discussion

Finally, a proper Sakura-focused chapter.



It's crazy what Cherry's concoctions can do. They pretty much do everything except fix the issue they're intended to fix.



Sakura "birthing" her past self is such a crazy and cool concept.




The anime adaptation of this chapter was one of my favorites. It was so surreal. When I first watched it I thought it was anime-original. So I was surprised when I learned that it was in the manga too.



Episode 102 is something that could only be made in its time. It came out just a few weeks after Beautiful Dreamer. Tonally it wouldn't fit in the Remake.



So many people want a remake of Beautiful Dreamer. First off, the story was original. That alone would write it off as being a remake candidate. Second, let's say that wasn't the case, even so, it wouldn't make sense for DP to remake the movie cause it wouldn't fit Oshii's tone of the original at all.



The original Urusei Yatsura and the remake are completely different beasts.
