Colored chapter. Red tint.

For some reason this chapter shares the name with chapter 123. Kinda. If you look at the Japanese, chapter 123 was セーラー服よ、こんにちは! while this chapter is セーラー服よ、コンにちは!! The latter uses Katakana which is an unusal spelling while the former uses Hiragana which is correct for Japanese words.

Ah, so this is the infamous chapter.

I remember reading an article about it. Apparently, "heteronormative" was a term that was coined in the 90's. This manga was made in the 80's. So, it doesn't make much sense for Mendo to use that word. Besides, it's not exactly a word a high schooler would use in their day-to-day lives anyway. This translation has a knack for using uncommon words and terms like that for some reason.

Anyway, it's unfortunate that Ryunosuke has to live like that instead of being a normal girl. Even more unfortunate is that the other girls seem to fetishize her instead of trying to help her.

Too bad she rejected the sailor suit offer from the boys. The conflict could've ended then and there. But she's too indoctrinated by her deadbeat father to change her mind now.

It's insane to me that Takahashi introduced a recurring character almost halfway through the manga. When I first watched the anime I really thought she was just gonna be one of the one-off characters that UY has so much of.

The Remake also removed a lot of the scenes with Ryunosuke's dad intentionally denying Ryunosuke is a girl. Probably to avoid backlash from western communities. But UY doesn't seem to be popular in the west anyway, so I just wish they went all the way with everything instead of censoring them.
