Urusei Yatsura Chapter 141 Discussion

Another early UY character is back. First, it was Kurama, now it's Tobimaro!



Tobimaro meets Ryoko! Or rather, they meet again. It's almost inspirational how Ryoko just wants to ruin men's lives.



If I was Tobimaro, I'd grow up to hate women too.



According to Viz, "I hate women" = "I don't like girls". You could argue they both mean the same thing. But it loses the connotation.



Translating something doesn't mean you're done after it's "close enough". It means you have to provide translation that's as close to the original intended meaning as possible. Something this series lacks.




Ranting about the translation aside, I like how the original anime combined this chapter with Tobimaro's debut chapter to create one episode. The Remake also pretty much did the same thing. That was kinda cool I guess.
