Urusei Yatsura Chapter 24 Discussion

Takahashi's artwork got BETTER after Urusei Yatsura moved to a weekly release format. That's impressive.



Damn, this chapter was wild. First, Lum called Ataru by his last name, something she rarely does.



Then near the end, Mendo kissed Lum under the influence of a stimulant. I don't they ever kissed in the anime so that was the craziest for me.



I also checked the anime version of this episode (20a), Lum also calls Darling "Moroboshi" but Mendo doesn't kiss Lum which is probably for the best.



What's more interesting is that the teacher isn't Onsen-Mark but is that anime-original guy Sanjuro Kuribayashi who stops showing up after Mark is introduced.



And the design for the Principal is also different. Maybe it was a different guy who quit after that episode lol.
