Urusei Yatsura Chapter 107 Discussion

Any chapter with Ran is a great chapter. But this chapter in particular has to be one of my favorites just because of how absolutely bonkers it is lol.



It's weird cos it's not even the first time Ataru got cloned. But it's definitely the most extreme case of cloning.



Also, it's interesting that Shinobu even agreed to go on a date with Ataru. You'd think she would've given up on him by now. Welp, if she didn't give up before, after this event she'd definitely give up lol.




Of course, the anime version of this chapter was also one of my favorite favorites. So it feels a bit strange for me to learn that the anime version was pretty much identical to the manga chapter. Usually, the anime would make shit up to fill the long 22-minute runtime. But in episode 38 they seem to have only padded the scenes out to fill that runtime. The wiki doesn't state anything about any obvious differences either.



Anyway, I really wish the Remake would adapt this chapter. It's hilarious and I'd rather see chapters like this where Ataru goes on a date with someone instead of some of the other chapters that Season 1 of the Remake adapted.
