Man, the way Lum time travels with a coffee mug sure is creative. I wonder if it's supposed to be a parody of Doraemon's desk time machine or something. Lum sometimes is like Doraemon with her crazy gadgets after all...



As cute as this episode is, Lum more or less tries to gr00m Ataru by trying to change his personality from the past. It's kind of awful and toxic behavior. But I don't think it's completely fair to compare her with earth ethics considering she's an alien and all... And it's not like Ataru's current behavior is any good.



But man, kid Ataru being shocked over and over with a doll is almost like torture. But it also shows he was built like a superhuman from the start.



As much as I want it, the child abuse might be enough of a reason for this chapter to never be adapted in the remake. Which is a bit of a shame.



That casual 4th wall break by Sakura tho. ICYMI, chapter 4 of vol. 1 is where Sakura debuts. She's the 3rd UY girl after Shinobu and Lum.
