With a manga series so willing to be hopelessly tragic such a clean and happy way of bringing Joshua back feels out of place. Especially with the cheesy Chrno segments where he's running and yelling about refusing to take her life force and how he'll make it to her side anyways. I guess with her 'dying' or so it seems and Chrno practically failing and despite not using his powers her time ran out maybe it cancels out the overly happy and clean stuff I mentioned above. I still wish the Joshua regaining his consciousness and Chrno's fighting scenes were done a little less picture perfect since the messy fashion of Chrno Crusade is one of its greatest strengths. I would have preferred Joshua to be more beaten up and only partially there consciously but as they continued forward he'd open up and once he'd see Chrno so hurt he'd step in the way he did. That would have been more in tone.
It's pretty warped how Joshua and Rosette are finally back together as adults and the three reached their dream of visiting the Astral Line like this.
When Joshua was shown to still have wings and powers after losing the horns I was frustrated briefly until I remembered he's an apostle and that's what apostles do.
The scene where Rosette collapsed was masterful and it made me tear up. I did not expect her to exhaust her soul in a moment like that right after things were going well. She just... collapsed. And in her last moments she did what she always wanted to but couldn't bring herself to, kiss Chrno and in a way confess. She's dying in Chrno's arms just like Magdalene did, almost identically in pose.
