Chrno Crusade Chapter 33 Discussion

Names keep changing in my translation Vid, to Bid, to Viede.  I assume Vid could be shortform for Viede so that why Jenai, who is now called Genai, called him it..



Anyways this was a cool chapter.  The sinners really don't seem like bad people, they never really have.  They're all characterized so full of emotion, even Aion is, the only stoic one Viede seems super dutiful.  That meal they had together really showed this.  The villains in Chrno Crusade are great because they don't feel like villains and their cause seems like something they genuinely are passionate about and think would be the best...  They even got Az food and a new outfit.  If you think about it the sinners could not treat her like this, the other apostles are held captive after all, but they're already treating her like one of them.  Aion even bowed to her and politely asked her to assist in their fight, although we could assume she doesn't truly have a choice, it does show his kindness.



It's notable that Viede may lose his horns after that butchering Chrno did to him, that Sheda doesn't have horns, and neither does Aion.  I'm curious what this is all about.  



We now know the plan in greater detail.  Perhaps the last attack on pandemonium put her to sleep or something, that I'm unsure.  But the sinners are planning to use the apostles control over the astral line, the life force of the earth/universe(not fully sure) to overflow pandemonium causing it to destroy everything within it and somehow create a rebirth of the world.



Some cool world building and confirmation we got in regards to Magdalene.  Magadalena was the holy maiden and who their whole organization was named after.  She could tell the future and gave the elders within the group prophecies to stop evil from happening.  But despite this she presumably died and the sinners are a step ahead almost like it's always that way.  In fact 50 years ago this exactly scenario happened with the sinners collecting apostles.  Chrno probably didn't keep Magadalena safe and that was why the elder said not to make the same mistake this time as its a complete redo of the last events.  I wonder why it didn't work last time.  



Oh and Kate resigned from director to be a field agent?  Cool.

So Fiore still remembers Satella here nice. Shader seems pretty nice too.
