Chrno Crusade Chapter 11 Discussion

                This manga is getting sadder with each chapter. T_T

The scene where Joshua gets his horns was done perfectly in the anime, the VA's screams were heart-wrenching.  Here it was still done well, but it didn't have that element which made it that much harder to watch.  I recommend checking out this scene at the very least from the anime if you get a chance.  



And I suppose I was right.  Joshua couldn't take all the sympathy, and in fact he would look away from the happiness below him because he couldn't bear to look at what he was doing to those people.  Hearing Rosette wasn't planning to be an explorer with him, but rather dedicate her life to helping him must have been too much.  He had to get out of this sea of sympathy and become strong himself.  That's why Ion was possibly symbolically the snake of the Garden of Eden.  Rather than the people in his orphanage telling him they would be his power, and Remington telling him he may get stronger, Ion literally told him he would give him the power he was so hungry for then and there.  Took his desires and made them into chaos.  



Rosette is such a strong character.  I teared up in the scene where she reminisces over the orphanage and thinks of how she wants to apologize to Joshua.  The way she sucks it up and puts on a smile, accepting a painful and short life to save him shows her resolve.  I really admire her from this and the beautiful advice she gave Asmaria in the past.

This was a really powerful chapter. The change within Joshua was just upsetting to witness.



I suppose Chrno had that time freezing power as well before he lost his horns.

Well that was sad .-. Rosette is really amazing though.
