I hated the ending of the "harem" arc, but this seems to set things straight. All the characters already told Madarame who he would fit the best with, and I agree. I want Yajima and Hato to end up together as well, but it would just seem forced at this point.

I`ve followed Madarame since the start of my Anime fandom, my early teens, so reading his confession made a huge impact on me. It almost felt like I myself confessed and waited for an answer in anticipation, it was THAT engaging. I`ve had some of my strongest and most memorable Anime experiences from the Genshiken series (the Saki scene made my eyes leak for hours), so it will be depressing to read the last chapter next month.

The previous chapter was pretty good as well, as it felt like reuniting with old friends. Oh, how I will miss this series.

Been putting off reading this and marathoned it in one go.

Madarame one of my favourite characters.

And Sue the Blonde Lolita Angel.

As much as I wanted Mada and Saki (Spotted flower is kinda filling that void)

I am actually quite happy and content with Mada and Sue.

The whole Fudanashi and cross dressing etc etc was interesting and did kinda change the whole Genshiken dynamic on Yuri and Loli's to more Fujoshi area.

But man Saki definately is without a doubt the Boss lady of Genshiken. Just wish I could see more of Sue and Mada's relationship. but I guess that also part of the reason why I love this series.

What a ride, what a ride indeed.

Hato not being end game is insane.

I get that Mada is straight and was always straight. It even felt odd whenever the author started exploring that side of Mada. Not that he couldn’t change but it just didn’t seem like his character. The author gave so much development tho to Hato x Mada that Mada x Sue felt like the wrong ending.

Even at the end of the Mada Harem all the writing led to it being Hato x Mada. It was really good manga but this ending left me feeling weird.

This is such a different series compared to chapter 1.

MEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEH So in the end saki comes out of nowhere and basically strong arms madarame to pick a girl. call her up and confess???

After 5 fucking years he's still under her leash. The fact that he did that is kinda disappointing I was hoping he would take more time to think about it and ask her out himself the next day or something... not some weird bullshit like this. Don't get me wrong Saki was a great character but they spent like a bajillion chapters on hato but literally like 3 panels on sue actually saying how she felt. I thought the whole point of the whole madarame shit was for him to grow some fucking balls....

clearly he didn't tho... hmmm in that case guess he would really be best with hato since he's spineless and dickless.

                        ----------------------------------------

Madarame & Sue for real?  They are awkward, though.  So that's his true feeling about Sue, being "moe" about her.  Everyone is happy for them.

Next ch. is final.

Sue? Really? I mean yeah in terms of their "otaku level", they might get along. But i hope i'm not alone with this but there is No chemistry between them. They are better suited as buddies instead of lovers.

Mada x hato. That's the one with chemistry. Not to mention an enormous amount of relationship buildup. I dont watch yaoi nor am i a fan of it but this pairing really deserved to be realized. Ugh. I guess i'm just butthurt because i really wanted them to get together. But oh well. I'm still happy that madarame at least gets somebody from his harem.

I'm so happy with Sue x Mada ending. My favorite pairings almost never work out in the end. I honestly felt like that it'd be Hato x Mada though.

I'm happy it's Sue <3

Already the last chapter, always sad when a journey comes to an end :'(

Well, to be fair most of the fujoshi part was madarame harem + Hato's crossdressing.

I agree that the fujoshi cast still had some potential. Hato + Yajima + the Yoshitakes with Sue would be a fun read as well.

They would just need to recruit one or two guy otaku, best if one of them (or the only one) would be very normal instead of quirky like the Yoshitakes, Hato and Sue.

I'd love to see a tokusatsu otaku there as well as an idol one. Those seem to be people that wouldn't find a club on their own and would be right for the Genshiken.

I'm happy to see a non-Hato ending, because that would be against the character Madarame was and also happy about a non-Saki ending. We already have that in the Spotted flower AU done very well, so while this kind of ending is still possible, due to Spotted being further in the future, I'd prefer to see two different timelines with different routes. More stories from Genshiken.

Kio Shimoku is good. I just think he gave too much time for the harem which was a cheap shot at pandering to the otaku and also too much time for the Hato drama which alienated some people that didn't care about it.

I think his idea of changing the genshiken to a fujoshi circle to change the perspective was good, but it lacked a strong male point of view, since Kuchiki was a joke character.

Then he started loosing people and did the trap and harem stuffs, which took the space for the female Genshiken just being the Genshiken.

Congrats Madarame. You ended up with someone who looks and behaves like a five year old girl.

This fucking manga.
