Genshiken Chapter 79 Discussion

I kind of hope Madarame ends up with Sue or Angela. I think him and Angela make a better pair, but I just love Sue :O

Another great chapter though, with quite some development ^^

Those chapters are really good lately :) I guess old cast is way better than new one and this is the proof (ofc, Angela and Sue are oldtimers for me too ^^)

Recently centering around Madarame...

It's the most realistic thing about this manga, that everyone knew Madarame's feelings about her. In real life it's also very obvious to tell when someone is infatuated with another, especially an otaku or introvert.

Keiko really knows how to stir things up, and poor Hato went along.



I don't think things will end up well for Watanabe...

One on side I fear for Madarame; if he is rejected it will break him, and when if it'll happen will he be able to pick himself up and put him back together?

On the other side, there is a change for the backstory for SPOTTED FLOWER to begin. Of course the Kousaka x Saki shippers will not like this.

In the end it's a zero sum game here, and someone will win, and someone will loose, and it'll have a drastic impact on the group dynamic.



As for Sue, she has a fan worship thing for Ogiue, but will she be able to take up the mantle of bringing up Madarame from the lows that he will experience in the Saki shutdown? Will Angela be willing to fulfill the ultimate American Otaku Fangirl collectible of getting an actual Japanese boyfriend? And even if she does will it be a short term or a long term proposition with her?

And for the long shot, would Hato break out, come out, and make Madarami his Uke? That is if Hato is actually protesting-to-much. I am not sure what is the case regarding his actual sexual preference.

It's clear now that Saki has known of his feelings all along, thus adding another reason as to why the extremely likely and only understandable solution would be for her to finally let him down easy if he actually confesses.   



All in all, decent chapter, and hopefully the next one finally kills the last sliver of hope and possibility for the terrible Madarame x Saki pairing.
