Poliwhirl evolved with the power of friendship or something. Lt. Surge is still a gym leader, just a very evil one. Red might have defeated his Electabuzz, but he did not win a badge. I am guessing Surge ain't concerned with his gym job much.
Uhm... okay that wasn't a gym battle but well. How did Poliwhirl evolve without the use of a water stone? Did it accidentally stumble upon one at the bottom of the ocean? I can live with it if that's the case but they should explain more in my opinion...
Wow, nice chapter. So is Lt. Surge a gym leader in this universe or not I wonder. Never thought he'd be evil. I thought it was Team Rocket behind the abducting. Love that flashback with Poliwhirl and how it saved him as a Poliwrath. Makes me want a Poliwrath in X now. Haha. That Pokemon fan guy is so shallow. >.>
Was Lt. Surge a bad guy in the videogame too? I honestly don’t remember. But that was a great chapter, a lot of stuff happening and Electabuzz looks just too badass.
