Shin Petshop of Horrors Chapter 45 Discussion

well that was quite an abrupt end, in just two pages the count decides to fuck off, and even if having a chapter center around lau wu fei was interesting, there was very little pay off, and the same thing could be said for the whole manga, it was very episodic, there wasnt a mystery to discover in regards to the count's nature or if the pet's human form was real or some kind of illusion, there wasnt a long term goal and lau wu fei doesnt feel as interesting as leon orcot, who had his dynamic with the count and his little brother chris, femto was cute but in comparison to chris he didnt get much development and that is also true for lau wu fei.



There were too many chapters about host, hostesses and gays, and there was very little gore in comparison to the original manga, the first chapter of the original hits you like a truck, i also feel like the pets took a secondary role in the history, most of the time, the story werent about the pets and the change they brought about a person life but the people themselves, or if not people, some kind of mythical creature that existed outside the pet shop, and i often feel the count was too good, in the first one the count often delivered dangerous pets that could bring misfortune to the owners if those were to be careless and that often was the case, but here he often took an active role to ensure a happy ending of the humans that came to his shot. In short, this manga lack most of the elements that make the first one great, i wonder if the author really wanted to make a sequel or was simply pressure to do so, i give it a 5 out of 10.
