Planetes Chapter 1 Discussion

Ah, so they moved Yuri's backstory forward in the anime.



Hachi's hair looks dark on the cover art but it's lighter than Yuri's in the pages.

Planetes is out of my comfort zone but I'm interested still since the art is pretty good.

I like this first chapter soo much!

Currently at episode 8.. since my link download is 130mb each 40mins-2hrs download time. I've decided to read the manga.



So far, it's very detailed here, especially the minor details.. the intro spaceship departed from England. But I guess animation still fits this kind of genre. The minor details fill it up, from food to places, they've answered How, When, What, Where, Why.. nice and in the anime missed the most important part, the accident 6 years ago.. so I was like who are they? what happen after?. So I was being tricked all this time. After Yuri found out about the Compass and the message.. really touchy part. I'm going to enjoy this

Pretty good first chapter; it punches you in the gut right to start.

Very sad and realistic. I think it looks like manga "Yokohama Kaidashi Kikou".

This was a pretty interesting first chapter, seems like something right up my ally.

im not sure if this chapter was like a one shot since it was so fast paced, but it was great nonetheless

Heartbreaking opening chapter. The panels where he leapt his arm at the floating compass and the subsequent injury in doing so were beautiful. Yuri has a certain charm about him. So excited to get through the rest of this manga. Great first chapter.

                        I forgot how much the settings were really well drawn, from the drawings of the Earth to the drawings of the spaceship.

I still don't like the design of the character, but that was a very nice start. I think I missed Planetes :/
