This chapter did a good job at highlighting the social structure of the Abh. Lafiel was able to get a superior to do what she wanted merely because she is royalty. The chapter also showed that Admiral Spoor's Chief of Staff is a commoner, and the previous chapters have shown that all major command position appear to be held by royalty and nobility.
