Claymore Chapter 104 Discussion

err, my #5-6 predictions above, is not actually my theory of what will happen.

if yo go back and look, Clare CAN Partially Awaken over and over again, however, when Clare sends her Huge Blade Arms at Priscilla again, they STRANGELY STOP just inches from Awakened Priscilla's face!!!!!

So, my theory is this:

Teresa/Jean/Rafaela/Irene want Clare to NOT kill Priscilla, yet Clare keeps trying to attack/kill Priscilla. Thus, they try to stop Clare, by preventing her from being able to Partially/Fully Awaken, thus Clare now has this mental "wedge/block/limiter" preventing her from Partially/Fully Awakening.

Instead, Teresa/Jean/Rafaela/Irene, want Clare to SAVE Priscilla, to revert/de-awaken Priscilla, back into a Claymore, like how Clare had done for Jean, how Raki, Galatea, and Jean had done for Clare, and how Rafaela had tried to do for Luciela.

Seeing the brief "returns" to humanity in the Awakeneds, Isley, Riful, Luciela, Alicia, and Beth, it seems to be suggesting that in fact Awakening IS reversible and not permanent nor ir-reversable. Thus this is what Teresa/Jean/Rafaela/Irene want Clare to do, to reverse Priscilla's Awakening, changing her back into a Claymore, and not merely killing Priscilla. As long as Clare keeps trying to kill Priscilla, she will be preventing from doing so, by preventing Clare from being able to Partially/Fully Awaken.

Is anyone else getting kind of bored of claymore? It seems like nothing is really happening anymore, other than just non-stop fights. The story has been the same for the last 60 or so chapters, find rika, and now it appears he gets kidnapped by the organization just to run that plot line in the ground even further. Hey, I'm going to go check out the claymore  Riful kidnapped for no reason other than taking up 20 chapters of fighting, ok? I mean I love claymore, and hopefully after the next couple of chapters it will start to entertain me again.

Rika? You mean Raki? And Riful's not gonna do any kidnapping anymore, I'm afraid.

I'm a bit tired, not because of the plot but because it comes out monthly which somewhat gives the feeling that everything's being dragged out (when it really isn't) but I still think it's progressing nicely.

omg, yagi made priscilla way to powerful. She isn't even fazed by Rafaela monster... God, she kill riful, alicia and beth, and dauf already..... How the heck is the author gonna come up with someone who can defeat her? Yeah kinda agree with you on that one.

She hardly even acknowledged that massive pillar thing which all the Claymores didn't even imagine any way to fight or destroy, quite a power difference there. Especially now after she wtfpwned it with one single attack like it was nothing =O

And the worst part is that there is no real 'explanation' behind this power of hers, considering she was just an above average Claymore at the time of her seemingly normal awakening.

To me it looks like she is the typical chosen one video game hero which for some reason always is a hundred times better than everything else, just in this case the "hero" happen to lean towards the more evil side xD

Either way I'm very curious to see how and if Clare actually managed to escape her current situation. Perhaps we'll see a new main character in Raki which goes on a quest oh his own to avenge her death ;P

This Page was fucking epic. Can't believe how much Yagi's art has improved

Clare is really in trouble and with Denev almost out it sure looks impossible for the girls to get out from there. Either the monster or Priscilla will get them. Some miracle is needed for them to escape

I'll just make this one point:

Priscilla was not merely an above average Claymore.

Priscilla was the 2nd most powerful Claymore of all time. Only Teresa surpassed Priscilla, as being the most powerful Claymore of all time. Teresa, terrifyingly, being far more powerful then even Priscilla, hehe.

Priscilla was far more powerful then even Irene, whom feared/realized Priscilla's power and yielded her rank 2 spot to Priscilla without a duel.

I personally have a hard time, seeing Claymore Priscilla (and Sophia and Noel) dealing with an AB, let alone an Awakened rank 1, such as Rosemary was, and especially not with the ease that Teresa done so against Rosemary.

However, we know Irene is powerful, and Sophia and Noel must have been powerful as well. Unfortunately, we only see them fight against Teresa, and using only "conventional" fighting as well. So, this is all true/same for Priscilla as well, whom as I said, is more powerful then even Irene.

---------------------------------------------------------------

I have a theory that:

Priscilla, Irene, Sophia, and Noel were so powerful that they didn't need special abilities/powers/attacks (excluding Irene's Quick Sword). They had such power, that merely using "conventional" fighting was deadly enough as it is. They were that powerful, that they didn't need to do anything "fancy" (excluding Irene's Quick Sword).

For instance, Sophia could slice through both a stone pillar and the normal yoma's body behind it, with just a normal sword swing. Sophia didn't need Rachel's "Strong Sword" to generate a powerful swing, because Sophia was that powerful on her own.

Noel had such speed and agility, that she didn't need anything special either. Noel didn't need Miria's Phantom Step to be fast, because she was already that fast on her own. Merely using her speed only/alone to even briefly slice off Awakened Priscilla's left arm (before she immediately re-attached it with her tentacles and then sent her tentacles into Noel's body/eyes/head killing her).

Also, Irene's, Sophia's, Noel's, and Priscilla's yoki releases were so powerful that it caused the ground/town/bridge to shake. That's some power by them.

And yet, Priscilla had more speed and strength then even Sophia and Noel, and was more powerful as I've mentioned earlier then even Irene too. Priscilla (and Irene, Sophia, and Noel) just didn't look very powerful, but she (and they) was (were).

I mean Priscilla's and Teresa's normal sword clashes alone shaked the ground/town/buildings as well. That's a lot of power.

Unfortunately, all of this "conventional" fighting of theirs (despite all of their tremendous power), is quite boring for us readers, and thus we wrongly get the impression that they were all weak, when it's the opposite that is true.

Think of it this way, if you're weak, you're going to need to have/use special abilities/powers/attacks. If you're strong, you don't need anything special, as your normal/conventional attacks/fighting is usually quite adequate to "get the job done".

And lastly, then we got Teresa herself, whom "dwarfs" all 4 of them (Priscilla, Irene, Sophia, and Noel), yes including Priscilla.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------

Ophelia is another example of this. Excluding Ophelia's "Rippling Sword" which was just "icing on the cake" anyways and her ability to twist her neck 180 degrees, Ophelia had nothing special about her, yet she was rank 4. So, why/how? Because the one thing that Ophelia had was, her sheer power. Ophelia killed the rank 6-9 female AB in a single NORMAL sword slice!

---------------------------------------------------------------------

I wish we could have seen:

Teresa/Priscilla/Irene/Sophia/Noel vs Alicia/Beth !!

and my own interest especially in Irene:

Irene vs Dauf and Irene vs Rigardo

Ya, typo my bad.

That's why as well. It takes forever for anything to happen, a fight scene can take up to a year just to finish - which is ridiculous. Not only does it take Clare 7 years to find Raki, we have to wait 7 years as well. Not exactly 7 years, but its still a long time. It should be weekly, so I wouldn't be "damn these fights, move on with the story already."
