Claymore Chapter 42 Discussion

The girl/yoma says something about creating 30 awakened beings or something like that. It makes me wonder, how many awakened beings are there? I mean if there are only 47 claymores right now, how could there be SO many awakened beings (seemingly more of those than claymores) all over the world, and how can they not have already overwhelmed all the claymores? I guess some are weaker than others but still. Unless Claymores die and get replaced far more often than I thought, there should not be so many awakened ones. Maybe I missed an explanation somewhere, or some info that is yet to come will explain it? 0.o
