Tbh Asaoka said all along that he understood why Yoh liked Haruna, and seeing how lovely/devoted/ protective/loving she is (though clueless) no wonder he has some feelings for her. 'Do you really think I'd go this far for a friend?', yes had a slit second doubt/shame on me, since Asaoka obviously it's that type!
