The last time I was even remotely hyped was chapters 464-465 which featured two of the three characters that should be getting the most focus but no we have to deal with 12 lackluster characters

God this arc is the prime example of wasted potential

Irene isn't special so why the hype? People are setting themselves up for disappointment. She was pulled from Hiro out of nowhere to make Erza relevant in this arc which unnecessary.

483 sucked. One shots everywhere characters being OOC. Charle and her cringeworthy dialogue. Jellal beating Failhart with a basic spell and Failhart not even attempting to fight.

And the historias amounted to jack crap

What a bum of a character

WHY SO SERIOUS

Lol

It wasn't that bad. When you can't stand ill be your legs Carla said. Little too sweet but fitting. The battles with he historian were challenging, but since they have beat them before an grown since of course they could do it now. I hope the anime expands more upon  gray/Lyon vs UR their could have been more their.

Why does everyone forget how powerful jellal is, he one of the strongest wizards in the world. Of course this was easy, we all knew oration sis team on fairytale side made this too easy.

Anyway sabertooth is who we should be focusing the narrative too now. Unlike mermaid heel/and lama scale which has about 2-3 strong wizards each, Sabertooth entire guild is made up of beefed up wizards physically and in magical reserves.

An extremely terrible chapter can make people serious lol.

Jellal is one of the strongest characters, but so is Neinhart. Remember the hype of Spriggan 12? I guess that's all flushed out to the drain.

Moreover Neinhart was hyped up even more than the other 2 spriggans in that area (that beast silhoutte, someone who actually defies Zeref's orders, almost one shotting Jellal in the beggining of the fight ......... too much hype all wasted)

The problem here is that Jellal one shotted Neinhart with his basic spell, and Neinhart didnt even attempt to block/counter it with his own nuke. EXTREMLY BAD writing considering its a battle shounen

And with all these one shots (5 I believe), I find it surprising that more people are not ranting. Laxus......ugh, the dumbest dialogue + worst one shot. I never thought Hiro could make me complain this much about Laxus, guess I was wrong

Laxus is OP AF.ofc he will one shot Hades.

Very disappointing chapter. This chapter saw the most number of one shots in FT history. The only one shot I was ok with in this chapter was Jellal one shotting Neinhart, but even that was bad since all it took from Jellal was his basic spell that Natsu, Jura and Oracion Seis tanked (an upgraded version, but still his most basic nuke nonetheless)

Tbf. Jellal was holding back when he used GC on Natsu, Oracion Seis and Jura.

But here Jellal went bloodlusted and we arent sure if Neinhart is even dead

Still doesn't excuse him one-shotting Neinhart with one of his weakest spells. So if we do power scaling now, he should be able to one-shot Zeref if he uses Abyss Break/Sema, which is ridiculous

First Jellal is strong, he was always strong, second it's not his weakest spell, he never said that, in fact he said that this spell has the destructive power of a meteor.

Sorry, let me rephrase it. It is his weakest signature spell out of all we have seen. Abyss Break, Altaris, Sema and Self Destruction Circle are all more powerful than Grant Chariot from what we've seen.

I know Jellal is one of the strongest characters in the series and till now is the only person I am ok with taking out a Spriggan (hype vise). I am ok with Jellal one shotting Neinhart with an OP spell, but with Grant Chariot? NO Fucking WAY!!

Neinhart was introduced as someone above all Spriggans will now except God Serena (he one shotted Jellal before temperorly) and then got one shotted by a basic spell? Thats bad IMO

WTF yo? Purehito being One shotted that easily?? DF?

In Grimoire Arc, they had a very rough time defeating him and now what???

Thats what call terrible writing.

Kek, are people actually arguing who's stronger and whether any of this makes sense? Geez, the author himself hasn't a modicum of comprehension regarding powerscaling, so there's no point debating.

Good chapter overall. Gray's PoF dialogue are always on-point. I rate Jellal actually beating someone with Grand Chariot.

Wtf does Brandish mean by calling August the "strongest individual", when she goes on to say Eileen is just as strong. Speaking of whom, her design is fucking great. Actually looks like a witch. Good stuff Hiro.

Honestly, good chapter.

From what experience I have with other shonens (those with action obviously), and where they shine, making them better than Fairy Tail, are most likely the fights, the action. Because visually the art is nice, but it needs more substance than that. That's the main thing people complain about Fairy Tail.

You´re right but the other issue most people seem to vocalize poorly is pacing and consistency. (Oneshots, Nakama power)

Hiro Mashima made two fatal mistakes when he introduced the series.

He didn´t make Natsu the strongest fighter within the protagonists cast than he proceeded to become stronger at a way too fast pace without training.

It´s like he took the worst parts of Naruto and One Piece and combined them.

Naruto was weaker than the cast surrounding him. He did not win a single fight against an Arc villain untill Pain and even required lots of training to get there. Luffy progressively got stronger without training over the 800 chapters and was immediately established as the strongest fighter alongside his peers, being buildup during long battles (some did really drag, but that was the minority).

To compensate Hiro constantly has to come up with deus ex machina that solve the issue in a poorly paced manner of one chapter.

Tell me if you disagree.

Just look at acno 1 shotting serena without using any magic.... Jellal needed a named albeit not ultimate spell.... See the difference?

Zeref's specialty is his immortality.without it he would have been dealt easily.

Acnologia is on the league of his own.him one shotting God Serena is not some big shocker.

He's gotten so bad at hyping he can't even stay consistent.
