I don't think I've been this disappointed with a Fairy Tail plot point since "She's Erza!"

The bitchers are strong on this one, they are also stupid.

Don't know what the fuss is about, the author knows exactly what he is doing.  Hell, didn't anyone notice that Aquarius is holding something in her right hand on the final page (conveniently out of frame).  One guess what it is?

Aquarius was always been the key to Lucy's mother, this was made clear year's ago.  Lalya has something planned, Aquarius, her best friend, has always known, and Brandish's mother likewise was in on it.  Just lean back and enjoy the ride as Lalya's true plan is revealed.

Reminds me of when people were saying that Brandish being taken out was part of a plan to get her into ft and steal fairy heart...only for absolutely none of that being shown as true.

Well to be fair she WAS expecting to be bailed out by Marin so that's still possible. We'll never know since he decided to backstab her

I feel like it'd raise more questions if that were the case.  Mainly why?  You have a size shifter and a teleporter, you don't have to fake a defeat.  And you can't say it was to find the guild's location because A) that stuff's public knowledge/can be found on any map (which if you're planning an invasion you'd be an idiot not to have beforehand) and 2) Wahl knew where it was when he aimed his cannon at it despite never sending a single robot there so we can't use that excuse (also this was after he learned Brandish was kidnapped, so if this was an infiltration mission he almost literally blew it and fairy heart to bits).

Then there's the fact that whenever news of her capture reached anyone they all responded with surprise.  Every single one, including Invel and Yajeel, who appear to be Zeref's most trusted confidants.  You could argue that Zeref told Brandish in secret as to not alert the mole, except from what we've seen she's the most likely mole (actually, that would make Wahl's attack make more sense if it was a trap not for FT but Brandish, but I feel like I'm over thinking).

It was a gag moment nontheless, I think she wanted to get closer to Lucy, to kill her, but there is a misunderstanding about her mother's death. The one think that would "shock" me, is if Aquarius says that her mother is still alive or Layla did indeed kill her. But that's unlikely. Either she was killed by Zeref to make Brandish join FT or was dead when Layla found her and took the key.

A gag moment leading onto serious plot progression, and a so far bad back story is a terrible way to progress the story. And bad writing in general.

Idk... maybe she did let herself get captured (it still was a gag moment). Revenge is a weird theme to use, it doesn't lead to anything good. Makes you wonder, why bother killing Lucy if Layla is dead, to make herself feel better for what Lucy's mom presumably did? Something doesn't add up, it's a misunderunderstanding on Brandish's part, unless she was there when her mother got killed, or saw the whole thing happen or whatever. Point is, is there really satisfaction in doing that? Why? Layla is dead for all we know, unless she IS NOT. So Layla could be alive, who knows. Or this is another misunderstanding (which is most likely, if not I'd be surprised). That's the whole notion of revenge; if someone killed the person you love and you can't avenge him/her because the culprit is dead, you're next target is the person they loved most. I.E. Layla killed Brandish's mum -> Brandish can't get vengeance on Layla since she's dead -> kill the next best thing which is the daughter of Layla (mother kills mother & daughter kills daughter).

Aquarius is back huh? No surprised there and frankly at this point i don't really care anymore since i'm use to Hiro's antics by now.

And about the Layla situation, of course it's going to be a misunderstanding on Brandish's part, could Hiro be more predictable?

Oh my this went downhill when aquarius appeared ar the end, this is one of the reasons why fairytail is one of the most hated anime/manga these days.

How is that? When other series bring back characters that are 'dead' (and Aquarius was not dead to begin with) it's okay, but when FT does it, BS BS BLAH BLAH BLAH.

I've never seen it be okay in other series.  Everyone called bs on Pell and  Bleach got loads of flak when characters thought to be dead came back.  You can't really play the victim card with FT on this one.

Meh, kinda lame that she came back after she died.

Well she never actually died. Still, if she can see Lucy whenever there's a puddle of whatever her earlier sacrifice will lose much of its weight.
