What was stoping him from destroying the rock with Lightning Flame Dragon Slayer Magic or Hade's magic...
He went into a Panic when face failed to activate, probably out of fear for whatever END's wrath will be. and so rather than use his combat abilities from the souls he opted to absorb them out of desperation, Lucy's stroke of luck psyched him out when she freed her spirits giving Natsu the element of surprise leaving him in shock and vulnerable to attack.
so he pretty much lost psychologically in that aspect.
Except he used one of Hade's spells earlier in the chapter...

Shock and the element of surprise. Besides you really think you'd have time to react when a huge chunk of floor is about to smash you with almost machinegun like speed?
One of Zeref's strongest demon can't react to someone hitting him with a rock.... lame.
By all means please do tell how you would defeat someone who can absorb any kind of magic?
Maybe by not introducing a character with such an overpowered and broken ability to begin with and thus not writing myself into a corner, without the use of an ass pull.
A "let's see you do better argument" seriously lol it doesn't take an excellent writer to recognize something that is poorly written.
Except it was not overpowered and broken. He was vulnerable to massive physical trauma. Something MOST mages in most genres are weak to. I believe there is a term for that. Oh right. GLASS CANNON. Seriously try to find a better excuse for your blatant hateDarklight0303 said:

Someone who is not affected by and can absorb magic in a series where magic is the primary means of combat "not overpowered and broken" LMAO...ok
We are not going to agree so lets end it here.
