Hm, I wonder if Minerva is more than she seems to be? When she tells Erza to "stay away, I'm..." it might be her being in denial over being overpowered. But could it be something else? Maybe her tough act was a facade... although I wouldn't say there's a lot of evidence elsewhere to suggest an underlying motive.
And the princess will spring into action soon. Anchoring bias has gotten a lot of people killed and will likely be the case here... unless our diligent heroes save the day, of course.
I'm still undecided whether if Lucy is the only time traveler (which means she told the princess and the FT crew different stories) or if there really are two of them, and the other one is manipulating the situation to achieve his desired outcome (presumably, releasing Etherion-like magic to kill the incoming dragons).
We know that in the "near future" we get the image of a desolate, wrecked landscape. That might be the result of using Eclipse as a weapon, rather than destruction wrought by dragons. And the dragons that Charles saw might be trying to stop Eclipse from firing. There are a lot of possible outcomes at this point.
I've got a bad feeling she's going to flip the tables and turn villain, ASSUMING she's not who she appears to be. And somehow I wouldn't like that IMO. I'm hoping for the best.
You know, that's a really good point. We know that dragon souls (apparently) roam around for eternity and Mavis' has stuck around for a couple hundred years after her physical death. Is she dragon-blooded? An actual dragon manifesting him/herself in the form of a human (Although I'm pretty sure that would've been already noted elsewhere)? Is she the "Edolas" version of a dragon like Porlyusica (that would be superlame)?
It doesn't mean she'll turn heel, though. I don't see any basis for that. She could know more than we've been shown, though.
