You could be right, I didn't think about that - however I'm still betting that it was a flashback since Ren seemed to get all traumatised afterward (suppressed memories?) and the scatters of blood made it seem more 'real' to me.. and anyhow we gotta find out more about Ren's past sooner or later.
I personally think it was about his past. We did get a glimpse of a similar scene too, during the Ren x Reino incident while on the location shoot for Dark Moon.
I lol'd at Kyoko calling that one guy seaweed haired man. XD
And yes, the chapter was short, however, we have gotten a few in a short period of time with another one coming up soon. Or at least that's the way it seems to me anyway. I think they could have spent fewer pages on the fight itself, but I do think it's necessary for Kyoko to see Ren like this so she can understand him and fall in love with him as Ren and not Kuon or Corn. (As long as she ends up realizing he wasn't in character mode.)
One last thing.......THE FREAKING BIRTHDAY PRESENT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! WHEN ARE WE GOING TO FIND OUT WHAT IT WAS?!?!?!?!?!?!?! (Or did we already and I just somehow managed to miss it?!)
