                        ----------------------------------------

Gai sees in the supposed proof of his guilt the key to his innocence.  He’s stolen the ball because of one small mistake the Hirata family made and it’s his job to turn the tides with it.  In mere moments he saw the path to salvation!  Spotting the rod, the tracks, and the evidence, the three should go together to allow an escape.  It should be cool to see how everything comes together.

I find it interesting that Ishihara cutely sat by listening the entire time.  He did put himself at risk to stand by Gai during his private lesson, maybe he could be convinced Gai is innocent and help him.  Or you know, he could want his help, he is a fighter!  As for Gai’s chance of success, they do have rubber bullets that they are good at using, and even if he somehow gets through those walls this early in the manga, they flew here and he's far away from home.  Plus, getting into the human institute and leaving right away feels odd, there's so much more that could be done here, so maybe Gai's plan isn't even necessarily one of escape!
