While this chapter raises a mystery where people in Markland disappeared, which were allegedly attacked by the Lnu tribe although there's no clear evidence other than arrows.
This time Thorfinn was challenged mentally whether he was able to keep the peace without using weapons or not. The difference in beliefs between Thorfinn and Eyvar has given rise to dualism for now and likely the future too.
Signs of incoming conflict again, also can't help but say even Thorfinn's having second thoughts now on his "no weapons" oath. Only time will tell how much he's ready to compromise.
After the last chapter which was one of the if not the best of this arc so far we get a slower paced one of Thorfinn, Vargar and Eyvar searching for missing people on Markland.
Lots of arrow but no traces of blood or combat. Curious to see what happened and if this will lead to the beginning of the end of the Vinland settlement.
An interesting version of some real-life mysteries we know of where entire settlements in North America just vanished without a trace. The logical presumption on the context clues we have is that the Lnu have captured the Markland settlers alive for whatever reason, or just taken them from the settlement and killed them elsewhere to provide the illusion that they just vanished.
And so begins the crumbling of Thorfinn's naive ideals.
So I guess it's time to start new big segment. I am really excited, cause as much as I dislike current arc, a couple of previous chapters were pretty interesting.
