The depiction of the natives has been something I've been curious about since I got into the series. Now that I've seen it, I'm pretty impressed with the amount of thought that went into them.

Based on a quick search, I think they are based on the Miꞌkmaq, a first nation people who currently live in the area where Vinland is supposedly located. There isn't much evidence that they ever made contact with the Norse (since the "Skrælings" in the Sagas are speculated to have been the proto-Inuit Thule people), but the geography seems to fit and there isn't any hard evidence of who the indigenous people of Vinland truly were.

Nevertheless, he clearly did his research when going into this topic. Accuracy can be debated, but his attempt was definitely not half-arsed. Well done, Yukimura-sensei.

Chapter 183 Vinland Saga

This chapter is really good and I enjoyed it

This is the first time he wants a relationship between

Show Native Americans and the Thorfinn Karlsefni Group

It's going to be really interesting to see if Thorfinn and his band

Whether they stay in Vinland or not, they are going to leave Vinland

Or is there even going to be a conflict between them?

We finally got to see the natives and how they think about thorfinn and others and on what basis they will be taking decisions. Looking forward to next chapter

Interesting discussion in the native tribe on what exactly they should do about Thorfinn's colony. Very interesting to see that they're able to recognise that Thorfinn and co have peaceful intentions, but that they're still seriously pondering driving them off their land anyway. Good cliffhanger to end the chapter on too, given that we as readers nor Thorfinn the character know what decision the natives came to after receiving their shaman's information.

It's really great to see the perspective of the natives, one big problem I see is communication, how are they gonna get over the language barrier.

I put off reading for a while, now it's time to painfully wait again for new chapters. Next chapter will be very interesting.
