“It’s not just about me.”
Elaine looked at her fiancé with quiet desperation, but he didn’t even turn his head.
“It’s important, Blake.”
He let out a slow sigh and frowned in annoyance.
If she didn’t say it now, she would never get another chance.
She had barely a year left.
“Please annul the engagement, Duke.”
“If this is just another attempt to get my attention, then stop. I’m tired of it.”
As if his perfect mask had cracked, Blake’s face twisted.
Elaine had struggled so much just to marry someone like him.
Suppressing the urge to run away, Elaine forced herself to speak.
“Let’s call off the engagement. I mean it. I won’t love you anymore.”
