"I need you back, Cali," I said earnestly, gazing into her eyes. "What do you mean?" she asked, her face betraying surprise. "I'm being sincere. I want you back in my life. I still have feelings for you," I replied. However, her response was a scoff, "You must be out of your mind." "I am serious. I want us to be together again. I didn't intend to break our promise," I tried to explain, but my words were met with a sharp slap. "You left me behind, remember? You swore we'd always be there for each other, yet you abandoned me." The sound of her sobbing and the pain in her voice tore at my heartstrings. "I'm sorry, I'm so sorry," was all I could manage. My own tears began to fall, mingling with hers on my cheeks.
