After losing her Luna title due to her husband's unfortunate demise, Ophelia found herself transformed into a rogue by her late husband's half-brother, who took over the Alpha position. Struggling to survive, her life took an unexpected turn when a stranger informed her at the tavern, "Finlay isn't dead, my dear Luna." Ophelia was bewildered, unsure if relief or fear should prevail. In a rush, she transformed into her wolf form and dashed to the council hall, only to discover the man she had grieved for wasn't truly gone. Finlay Dupree, thought to be deceased, had miraculously survived a trap set by the Barbarian pack. He was held captive for questioning, as his supposed death was assumed after his headless body was buried and funerary rites were conducted. Despite reclaiming her position as Luna of the Crimson Paw pack, Ophelia couldn't shake the feeling that something wasn't quite right with the new Alpha. Their relationship was strained from the beginning – she had been forced into marriage to Finlay as payment for her father's debt, while he secretly had a lover. Since his return, however, he seemed altered, showing interest in Ophelia and displaying a newfound attentiveness. Doubts lingered in Ophelia's mind, but the intensity in his eyes when he shifted into his wolf form hinted at his true alpha nature. Could this be the genuine Finlay, transformed by his survival? Or was he an impostor巧妙地 manipulating her, hoping to avoid detection? Caught between her heart and her skepticism, Ophelia grappled with the question: had the survivor truly undergone a transformation, or was he an imposter bent on seducing her for ulterior motives?

Whats very appropriate, in my opinion, is how the system functions as the author’s plot device to keep developing their relationship.
However, I do personally believe that the time-frame that all of this happens is a little unrealistic.
That aside, for anyone who wants a fairly short and decent romance novel, I highly recommend this.
