This novel is a direct continuation of the previous work with the same name. So talking directly about the aspects of this novel is a spoiler of the previous work. I will talk about the previous work.
This is a very different novel from wuxia standards:
The protagonist is weak and his advantage (cheat) only serves as support and does not bring much difference in his power.
There are no clichés like face slap, arrogant young master, powerful master who knows everything, or powerful women falling in love with the protagonist.
This is a story about a mortal who luckily has the opportunity to walk towards immortality. So the protagonist is average. He is a Jack of all trades, knows and use many things,but is not an expert on anything.
This is one of the only novels I read that mine gave me the feeling of an average cultivator who manages to prevail through schemes, struggles and luck, cultivating higher and higher. It's not like the universe is helping him or some treasure or absurd solution falls from the sky to help the protagonist. So I highly recommend it.
