An accident robbed Ning Shu of Fang Chen, the man who loved her the most.
Yet, because of that very same accident, the husband Ning Shu loved deeply brought Fang Chen’s widow—who was three months pregnant—into their home and demanded that Ning Shu personally care for her.
This widow was none other than her husband’s “white moonlight”! What Fu Yanshen did not know was that the wife he held in such contempt, Ning Shu, had also just discovered she was pregnant with his child.
As disappointments continued to pile up, they finally crushed Ning Shu.
“Fu Yanshen, let’s get a divorce.”
Fu Yanshen didn’t take her seriously at first, assuming she was merely throwing a spoiled tantrum. But later, he realized that she truly was utterly heartbroken.
It was only at that moment that Fu Yanshen realized a ray of light had long since taken up residence in his heart; he simply had never paid it any mind.
He panicked. He went mad.
But Ning Shu already had someone else by her side.
It was his own sworn brother, who held Ning Shu by the waist and looked down at him with disdain. “President Fu, do you think you’re worthy?”
Fu Yanshen knelt and begged Ning Shu, “We still have a child!”
Ning Shu smiled and asked, “So what?”
The man standing beside her said, “Do you know that what you discarded like a piece of trash is cherished by others as a precious treasure? And it’s not just me. Look behind you.”
In the dim light of dusk, the scarlet tip of a cigarette flickered. A tall, well-built man approached, a cigarette between his lips and hands in his pockets, wearing a rakish smile.
“Ning Shu, I’m back.”
Ning Shu cried and then laughed; those passionate and chaotic days of youth seemed as if they had never truly faded away.
Fu Yanshen still refused to leave, still pleading with her, “Just look at me once, please?”
