This was an exceptional story. I appreciated how the main character, Nakata, gradually uncovered more details about Naruse. In my view, the most remarkable aspect of this story was the character development: the characters were incredibly realistic—imperfect yet distinct and compelling (I particularly admired Azuma Reiko in this narrative).
The ending was surprising and unpredictable, yet perfectly fitting for the story—bittersweet and true to life.
