First off, if you're planning to dive into this manga, it might be wise to have at least a basic grasp of what a Telekura is. To put it briefly, it's a spot where you step into a phone booth to chat with a girl who's open to going on a date with you. And that's the premise of this manga... well, sort of. The Telekura aspect merely sets the stage for the various tales that Sexy Voice, the main character, experiences, sometimes joined by her sidekick Robo, a random nerdy guy she encounters. Every chapter presents a new story featuring the MC and her exceptional ears. It's about more than just hearing the woes of lonely men; Sexy Voice boasts an incredible auditory ability. She can distinguish voices in a crowd and recall every voice she's ever conversed with, which leads to some truly remarkable scenarios. The artwork here is fantastic. While it may not appeal to the mainstream audience as "pretty," it carries a sense of style that I feel is missing from many modern manga. Maybe there's some influence from French albums, and it also reminds me a bit of Taiyo Matsumoto's illustrations—so it's really top-notch. <p>
