Thoroughly enjoying the novel... it might not be to everyone’s taste as it is quite risqué... it includes a lot of non-consensual scenes, focusing on power dynamics between a poor orphan girl who serves as the 'play maid' of the Crown Prince. The plot remains faithful to the original story, but this is not a love story. Instead, it delves into themes of greed, possessiveness, and politics—nothing new if you're familiar with Korean hentai webtoons. So, if you're someone who prefers fluffy, romantic, and sweet stories, steer clear because the male lead is a genuine yandere, not your run-of-the-mill character.

, this is a story that might make a typical reader squirm on their first read. If you find yourself overly emotional about it, you might be on the "normie" side, fam. 😂😂😂

As an avid reader of dark, toxic, male yanderes, I wasn't satisfied with this. The story felt abrupt and short, leaving me with more questions than answers, especially about the clarity of their relationship. It seemed like he developed feelings for her after being his 'childhood toy,' but wouldn't he still be obsessed with the toy even if the main character (MC) wasn't the one given to him? If you were expecting a yandere story, be better prepared, as it really goes dark in the conclusion, but surprisingly, I didn't find it particularly engaging. There was no real progressive or healthy development in their relationship.

Spoiler:
ML making MC his queen and finally not using contraceptives for consummation doesn't count, as he only did that to bind her to him so she wouldn't run away again.

P.S. Spoiler:
I know actions speak louder than words, but come on, we don't even get ML saying he loves her or any other confession besides him saying he wants her forever (and he said that because she tried to escape, which, in the context of their situation, makes his feelings seem more about lust and possessiveness than love).

I haven't read this in a while, but I thought I should give a rating because none of the current reviews complete the story.

**Genre:** Light psychological and true to the manipulative character (I've read quite a few psychological-themed novels, and I can say this one is just cute compared to others). Thumbs up for the tags; I hope newcomers to the genre will get a hint. This could be your baby step into a new world, a good start, indeed!

While the girl is submissive, he is a yandere! I repeat, HE IS YANDERE!!!!! Prepare for the smut and expect non-consensual scenes and a very possessive male lead. To be clear, there's more to it regarding why he's been 'sick'—it’s dark....

I just wish the novel covered the process of their childhood romance and the start of their intimate relationship. Like, whyyyyyy???!!!

One thing this novel lacks is a detailed depiction of how he fell in love, the process, I mean. It was just a small excerpt towards the very end, which was so cute that I almost got diabetes *cough*. And I WANT MOREEE!!! They are freaking cute, wtf!!!

There's no such thing as comedy or light-hearted moments, but rather a drama with a brutal yandere prince-king who goes after anyone who wishes to take or hurt his woman. And the intimate scenes... well, they are intense, just so hot!!! And yeah, he's yandere, so you know what you're getting into!!!

**Length:** Short, you can probably finish it in a single sitting or a couple of days at most!

**Sugar Level:** Type 1, but it turns to type 2 at the ending part!!!!

**Smut:** 🥵 Just go read it and enjoy the ride!!!

It's a perfect fit for fans of psychological, dark adult novels featuring a twisted, unhinged male lead. As is often the case with such stories, the female lead tends to be submissive and innocent. The plot is engaging, the pacing is good, and it doesn’t drag. Perhaps the only downside is that it’s not fully translated yet.

Given the genre and tags, you shouldn’t expect a cute, romantic love story. The male lead doesn’t transform into a good guy through the power of love, and it’s definitely a toxic, terrible relationship that any girl should run away from.
