A slice-of-life book featuring a female lead (FL) who transmigrates back to the 1950s. Her "gold finger," a space always filled with supplies, is casually explained as a family trait and then largely forgotten, only resurfacing when occasionally needed. The FL lives her life in a way that is impressively historically accurate for the era. However, aside from missing air conditioning, she never acts like a modern person, which left me wondering why the author chose this approach.

I gave it 3 stars because the book has very minimal conflict, odd perspective and time-skipping, and is rather boring overall. Despite these issues, it does manage to accurately depict 40 years of turbulent Chinese history.

The story is charming but rather slice-of-life and everyday. The main character is a beautiful, humble woman who is exceptionally skilled at sewing and deeply devoted to her family. However, her in-laws and husband manage most of the household duties, including raising their child. She mainly spends time feeding and playing with her son before he is taken over by his father or grandmother. It’s worth noting that everyone is happy to assist her.
