Although she was an innocent woman who did not know the world, Rowena fell into a love trap and became the mistress of Duke Killian.

She devoted her body and mind to him for three years, but she was thrown away with repeated contempt and misunderstanding.

One day she secretly gave birth to his child and lived in hiding like a sinner.

After five years, he returned like nothing ever happened.

“Long time no see. Miss Philone.”

“… … Don’t you remember throwing money at me and throwing me away?”

“I threw it away, so I have to pick it up.”

Killian smiled, responding lightly. The cold eyes turned to the door where the child was hiding.

“I didn’t expect that you would be so quick, but in the meantime, it must have been sweet.”

“… … .”

“Choose. Miss Philone.”

A man who lifted my cheeks with a glance of appreciation of the object reported.

“Will you be my mistress again, or will you die with your child on the street?”

Oh no, I composed a lovely review but deleted it all by mistake 😅 Let me summarize it briefly:

The main character doesn't live up to the author's portrayal – despite spending five years apart and then three more together, he fails to uncover the truth about her, leaving readers puzzled 🤔

The innocent country girl gets tricked and taken advantage of. We see her briefly writing a novel and then disappears from the story. She seems ungrateful as she doesn't reach out to her adoptive uncle. Despite wanting independence, she neglects to ask for help when she becomes pregnant and her child falls ill. It's concerning how she puts her own well-being before her child's health.

The translation, on the other hand, is fantastic! Thank you so much for your hard work 💪🏻👍🏻

As a first-time reviewer, I might have made some errors, please forgive me 😕🙏

Certainly, considering the author has only produced two novels thus far, it's only fair to give them some room for growth. The book does have numerous plot holes and unrealistic elements that can be frustrating, causing one to grit their teeth and perhaps worry about losing patience. We'll just have to hope that the author improves in their future literary endeavors.

The translation is outstanding; I'd definitely give it a 5 stars. However, I do wish for more frequent updates. The storyline is quite frustrating, as it's hard to comprehend how the female lead (FL) remains so trusting and tolerates all the mistreatment from the male lead (ML). Despite his intelligence, ML falls for her worst suspicions without proper verification, which is disappointing. It would have been lovely to see more intimate moments between the two main characters, but given the rating限制 (R15), that seems unlikely to happen.

The protagonist is a young and innocent woman with a kind soul, which unfortunately makes her vulnerable early on in the narrative. This vulnerability creates a complex dynamic between her and the main male character (ML), who initially appears unlikable due to his jerkish demeanor and personal family problems. The story is filled with misunderstandings and hidden plots that heighten the tension. I'm hoping for a turning point where she decides to distance herself, potentially catalyzing a change in him, as he currently lacks redeeming qualities. 🤔😊

It's not as if the FL lacks common sense or makes illogical decisions; there's a touch of realism there too. People often assume that realistic characters are intelligent and level-headed, but I believe a more relatable character would exhibit human-like imperfections. They might act foolishly at times, let emotions cloud their judgment, or be prone to pride.

For instance, consider a situation where someone suggests the FL should求助于她富有的叔叔以解决债务问题。 But if we empathize, we can understand why she didn't. She left home and fell victim to a scam, feeling too ashamed to seek help from her uncle. Alternatively, she might have been considerate and refrained from burdening him with a debt not rightfully hers.

As for being tricked into going to the capital, she might not have thought to rely on her uncle's connections. Perhaps she wanted to be self-reliant and not rely on him further.

I'm genuinely excited for more chapters. This story is quite captivating.

FL is being rather innocent, considering she claims her uncle is a renowned writer. Why bother going to the capital if she can simply rely on her uncle's connections to pursue writing? It seems odd that after her friend lied about her situation to avoid debt, she chose to seek help from a stranger instead of turning to her uncle, especially if pride isn't a factor. If she had realized her mistake and accepted her uncle's offer of support, things might have turned out differently.

Furthermore, why didn't she return home to her uncle when she escaped? Instead, she chose to endure hardship in an unfamiliar place. It's as if she intentionally made her life difficult for herself. Her uncle expressed his love and open invitation for her to come back, yet she never reached out to let him know she was okay. It's hard to comprehend how she could neglect her uncle's feelings, especially given the concern he must have felt for her well-being.

Regarding the ML, it's surprising that he didn't realize his own dogs weren't loyal to him. He was oblivious to the fact that his servant had been deceiving him all along. This lack of awareness raises questions about his judgment and understanding of those around him.

It's alright, I understand your perspective. You enjoy the story despite its flaws, possibly because it broadens your literary experience. The main character, unfortunately, comes across as weak and makes poor decisions, falling victim to various characters' schemes. The fact that she sacrifices her son's well-being by not seeking help from the duke or her wealthy uncle angers you. It's surprising how long she avoids her only support while struggling and not utilizing the opportunities to improve their lives, like pursuing writing through her uncle's connections.

The plot, in your view, calls for a strong external influence, such as a system or a protagonist from another world, to intervene and provide a better future for her son. Despite your frustration, you still appreciate the translation and hope it continues.
