The paneling is easy to follow, providing a clear flow of events. The narrative itself concludes in a satisfying and conclusive manner, without feeling rushed or forced. The art truly stands out, which is typical for Masamune Shirow's work, but there's something about this blend of magic, spirituality, and sci-fi that perfectly aligns with his style. As expected, the line details and scenery are absolutely fantastic.
The only downside I can think of is that much of the pseudo-science behind how the world operates isn't presented in a way that allows readers to fully grasp it as a defined rule system. This means you have to "go with the flow" of the story's themes—essentially accepting at face value elements like divine forces and an incomprehensible power structure. Some aspects can be inferred regarding their meaning or purpose, but overall, I didn't find them clearly explained. However, I don't consider this a significant issue, as the story makes it easy to enjoy without needing a complete understanding of the bizarre sorcery power levels Masamune Shirow created—the intent behind the various levels becomes clear through the surrounding actions.
I highly recommend it!
