This is my first time to read a cultivation novel with a female MC in it; neither isekai'd nor a trap in a sense. It's quite refreshing because some of the cultivation novels I skimmed through, are, at most, males; quite hard to read due to its harem nature and usual fantasies of men.The essence of conflict and struggles are the same, without system and plot devise that always favored the protagonists. No fruitful encounter or some orphaned MC that hailed from somewhere noble and all. It's a light read that could help you understand the cultivation genre for those beginners. Some cultivation I say, are all throwing things here and there without sufficient explanation for basics. Since our MC is a commoner, the story entails in the slow pace of explaining things, as it is part of an ignorant suddenly have the chance to the way of the Path. There are some teasing, but not always like those cultivation novels that catered men, it is acceptable where girls often had admiration towards handsome and able men.I warned that it's a slow pace of cultivation in a true sense, without bounds and leaping through like a canon ball. So every chapter is quite an excruciating excursion.
Excellent novel. Very human protagonist. Instead of the usual unrealistic mental fortitude of the typical shonen MC, here we have a dude having a severe mental breakdown and developing a complex as a result. His journey is essentially him trying to overcome his trauma while also trying to make a living and growing stronger. Awesome stuff man.
