Sometimes the arcs can be a bit lengthy, but overall, the story flows well. It was a great journey, and I read the entire thing in one sitting.
The ending was also excellent, although I wish Lin Dan hadn't had any relationship with the scumbag at all. The postscript showing how she returns, escapes, and leaves the scumbag standing there smiling was really frustrating.
This work is likely more suitable for mature audiences. My favorites are the general arc and the doomsday arc. The mother arc feels a bit overdone, but overall, it was a very fulfilling read for me. My only wish is that the ending could have been a bit sweeter and less abrupt.
PS: Only the prologue translated by iso is worth reading. The quality of the other translations declines as the chapters progress, to the point where they are no better than machine translations.
This novel is truly heartwarming so far, and I love every minute of it. The main character (MC) is a totally awesome independent woman with high IQ and EQ. She embodies what a real MC should be, unlike those characters who only know how to humiliate themselves to gain favor or those who are so stuck up on their empty pride. Our MC has real self-respect, good morals, and unyielding self-discipline. The male leads (or potential male leads) are also fantastic—sweet, rational, and realistic beings with high IQ and EQ. This story doesn't focus heavily on romance. In BL terms, it's more like a shounen ai theme where the leads have a good relationship, and in some arcs, they are close but never really get together. It's like having an itch that'll never be scratched, but you still enjoy watching them, even if you don't usually like reading romance.
I've enjoyed the journey, and the endings of each arc are satisfying, even if they leave me with a bit of a frustrating itch. Thank you, Translator-sama, for bringing us such a heartwarming and wonderful novel.
