This book begins as an excellent read...then becomes lesser and lesser as you read the chapters. I eventually began skipping chapters to see if it returned to being an excellent read. It didn't.
The tags are very misleading. 91 chapters of mental abuse, actual torture, social isolation, and rape. Yet still somehow called \"Sweet\" ?? This isn't a romance. it's a tragedy. Needs an ending. Hoping John faces some huge painful repercussion. There needs to be a climax and catharsis after all this because the excellent writing style is being trumped by a painful going-nowhere story where the male lead and his family are all irredeemable.
