This manga is funny, but at other times, the atmosphere becomes serious. It explicitly addresses World War II in Japan in a profound way during the climax. As someone from a country that was once colonized by Japan, I usually dislike this kind of plot... but objectively, this is truly great!
The art is good, and even though I initially disliked the anime's art style, the manga's visuals are impressive. I don't know why the manga is underrated, but it's definitely a must-read. It's funny, entertaining, emotional, and has a perfect formula for a sad-ending story. You might even enjoy buying the physical copy of this manga.
