I think it was more on the suppression to receive faith and the fact that humans that are well off are usually less dependent on religion in comparison to those from poorer backgrounds.

Nichijou is absolutely THE BEST THING I HAVE EVER READ, and let me explain why. It takes place in a TOWN in JAPAN where someone has spiked the town's water supply with COCAINE. As a result, everyone is COMPLETELY INSANE, embracing sheer RANDOMNESS and OVEREXAGGERATION within a slice-of-life MANGA setting. I personally prefer the MANGA over the ANIME because it's LONGER and contains more JOKES due to its extended length. The characters are all FUN and FUNNY, delivering great JOKES that make it genuinely hilarious. At one point, a character drops a RAP, and it's nothing short of AWESOME—it made me LAUGH OUT LOUD at a STILL IMAGE because it was so FUNNY and AMAZING with her RAP. Nichijou truly is the best thing I've ever read!

I picked up this manga at Barnes and Noble based solely on its appearance, and I'm thrilled I did! This manga never fails to put a smile on my face, and the characters are incredibly endearing! Also, this is my very first review.

    Story line: 7
There isn't an elaborate story line since it consists of snippets from the main characters' daily lives, but they are always enjoyable to read.

    Characters: 9
The characters are highly likable, and there's someone for everyone to adore! I do wish there was more character development in what I've read so far.

    Art: 10
I've always been a fan of this chibi-style art in both manga and anime, and it fits perfectly with the story being told!

    Enjoyment: 8
I found the story very satisfying to read, and whenever I got my hands on the next volume, I would finish it in about 15 minutes. My favorite character is Sakamoto!

Introducing the manga that appears ordinary, but is anything but. You're transported to a world with the typical serene atmosphere of a high school, where students stroll to class, preparing for another day of learning. Yet, you'll be joining an eclectic cast: a robot, a precocious young scientist, a talking cat, a trio of girls, a carefree teacher, and more.

Nichijo excels in how it begins each scene. The author skillfully sets up a sense of normalcy, leading the reader to believe it's just another regular school day. That's when the twist comes—something completely unexpected that throws the reader off balance, leaving them helpless against the absurd humor unfolding before their eyes. This is one of the reasons Nichijo stands out.

The characters are all uniquely crafted, far from being cookie-cutter personalities. There's the quiet girl who rarely speaks, instead using her surroundings and gestures to deliver jokes that make both the reader and other characters laugh. Then there's the talking cat, adorned with a simple scarf that allows him to communicate with his caretakers. He often acts like an adult, attempting to instill responsibility, but reverts to playful kitty mode at the sight of a cat toy.

The artwork is pleasant, though not extraordinary. In fact, its simplicity works in favor of the series. This isn't a comedy filled with raunchy or satirical elements; rather, it's one that appeals to a wide audience with its diverse range of humor. A highly detailed art style might detract from certain aspects, such as maintaining the 'normalcy' the series aims for.

As mentioned earlier, the variety of comedy is remarkable. From slapstick to wordplay, romance to spontaneity, role-switching to generic tsunderes, and more. I may have forgotten some types, and perhaps can't name every single category available.

If you haven't tried this yet, I highly recommend it. If you find the humor hard to grasp, consider watching the anime adaptation first—it really aids in understanding the series better.

Nichijou can be summed up in one word: hilarious. The series is pure entertainment, guaranteed to make you laugh with its exceptional comedy and fitting artwork. Each skit is meticulously crafted, and the characters are incredibly enjoyable, perfectly complementing the humor. You're doing yourself a disservice if you don't give this series a try at least once. By the time you finish it, you'll be pleading for more because you won't want it to end. It's a top-tier comedy series that will have you rolling on the floor, laughing until you cry.
