My Senior Brother is Too Steady

The MC can't decide. Does he want to be indifferent and mind his own business, or does he do want to involve himself in situations were he might die. The story feels so damn forced. The Mc doesn't seem to consider the consequences of his actions and lies. The conflicts are especially forced in this one since the MC seems to try his very best to avoid trouble. Don't worry though, the author can use something as convient as 'karma' to explain away all these plot holes.

But this is a gag novel so I really don't know what I expected.

Of the 143 fully read qidian novels in my library, this might actually be my favorite, or at least top 3.

It’s without a doubt the best cultivation novel I’ve read, and it’s quite refreshing in that it deviates so much from other cultivation novels. It truly has its own charm, and even though I love novels like Lord Xue Ying and desolate era, this slightly more slice of life and comedy style cultivation is often a more enjoyable read.

The story might remind many of “the spiritual attainment of Ming He”, in that a lot of the same characters from Chinese mythology like nuwa, three pure ones and so on, but the novels style differs a lot.

A great aspect to the novel is that it doesn’t only follow the MC, but also a lot of likable side characters. These characters are well written, have their own stories and personalities. You get vivid feelings for different characters, like his earnest master, his slightly clumsy and adorable junior sister, his scheming (in a fun way) uncle master, his unrestrained martial aunt, the icy but innermost fiery senior sister etc. You start to like and care for all these characters.

So my conclusion is, try this story out, it’s great!

If it doesn’t get picked, I might just have to read mtl, but I’d be extremely sad as it would feel like running this master piece of a novel.

its a good novel destroyed by a sucky translator, dropped it at chapter 64 because of translation quality is low compared to the first 1 to 62 chapter then it become sucks, its also a paid chapter so why is the translation is bad,
for the translator of 1 to 60 thank you for you work
and the rest you SUCK and blue fairy your face SUCK YOU

This novel has a serious case of word-count-itis. The author wastes so incredibly much time on useless nonsense just to make the story longer. It felt like it would be a faster story at first, with the various time skips, but nearly every "event" within the story is just a waste of space. Not to mention that the in-world logic is just nonsensical, and the author pretty much just does whatever he wants with no regard for making the plot seem natural or realistic. Very surprised so many people 5 starred this and is recommending it as one of the best current xianxia novels. To me, it's very low quality writing.

I cant believe webnovel chose the other novel instead of this one. I hope the translator sees this and continues as it is the best of the previous batch.

The only reason I am reviewing is because webnovel has yet to pick this book up over the generic garbage Monster Transmuter. I have only read 60 chapters but that much is enough to assure one that the author actually gave a lot of thought before writing and not simply throws the cliches at the readers.

The mc is very likable and stands out from the generic cold blooded rebirth mc. The other characters have been yet to be fully fleshed out but they are intriguing until now. The plot is clever and has plenty of humour. Since the mc is very thorough in his actions, the plot armour doesn't have to save the day everytime. World background till now is honestly not something top notch especially for a non Chinese reader but well this has only started.

Please contribute to this novel and push it to the voting zone. I don't want to take the dark path for this novel (yet).

Try this ... it is fun and fresh.

First cultivation novel i have read that actually focuses on cultivation instead of gaining a harem or faceslapping. Love the story and hope that the rest of it is just as good as these 60 chapters!

Such a rare cultivation novel which is different from the usual cliche generic trash we always get. I would be really disappointed in Qidian if this doesnt get picked while generic trashes are being chosen.

I just wanna explain the Harem Tag, because a lot of people are usually put of by that.

This isnt the normal Harem, there are only 2 girls that both end up with the mc. They both get there share of character development and dont have been with each other.

This won't have that Harem feeling because One of the Girl has a 1 sided crush on the mc till almost the end so she isn't really seen as the fl. While the romance with the other one is developed throughout.

My fellow brothers. This is the first time I am reading with a ranking of 100+. They said the MC is similar to Han Jue in Top Tier Providence. Wish me luck!
