A bit slow but well written with steady growth pace. This is a tower defense novel, and our MC is the city lord. If you enjoy strategy than this is for you.

Interesting premise of a Tower Defense game and the shenanigans that the MC gets up to while being the overlord for his city/tower defense. MC has the fairly typical archetype of being a scrooge while having some innovative ideas and getting by on a decent bit of luck.
The character development currently is a bit shallow but it is mainly the world building phase with a number of different people interacting with the MC so it is understandable.
The MC is a bit unique as his goal within the game is not to earn money - honestly one of the first gamer novels when the MC isn't ridiculously poor/greedy.
The MC instead is 'casual' and aiming to have fun which shows in the novel in later chapters with some unique developments.
The only issues I can really see is the some pretty thick plot armour with the MC getting some quite valuable things very early on - so for people looking at this review I would recommend to not take things to realistically.
The other issue is the setup for outside the game is a bit dull with the dialogue usually the standard tropes you see in Chinese web novels - doting 'aunt' type character, person looking down on MC etc.
The translator has done a good job with a fair balance presented between keeping Chinese slang/proverbs which provides some charm to the novel and keeping things digestible for a western audience.
If you are into video game novels I would say check this out and I hope that this novel gets picked up as I am looking forward to future updates!
