This was my first encounter with Sumomo Yumeka's work, and I was thoroughly captivated after reading it.
The narrative is straightforward yet deeply meaningful. Even though the manga is brief, Sumomo Yumeka skillfully selects key scenes to depict, allowing readers to easily connect with the characters. The art style is sleek and complements the tranquil atmosphere of the tale.
It's incredibly moving and charming, especially for those who enjoy understated romance.
There is just one complaint I have about this manga, and only one.
Why on earth is it so short? Why?! I absolutely adore it, and this feels like a punch to the gut!
Even though it consists of merely two short chapters, the characters Shinobu and Nishino are developed far better than many I've encountered in manga spanning multiple volumes. I'm truly impressed by this feat. It took me no more than five to ten minutes to read, yet its impact lingers profoundly.
Kokoro Kikan is undoubtedly worth your time. It will leave you with that delightful warm and fuzzy feeling inside. ^_^

Kokoro Kikai consists of two one-shots that focus on two high school boys who feel as though they aren’t truly alive, like they're suffocating and weighed down. One of them also carries scars from the past, and I feel that together, their world becomes brighter.
